Birge

About Birge

Birge is a service where people travel across Central Asia together and split the cost of the ride.

Why it exists

Getting between cities in Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan usually means choosing between two inconveniences: a private taxi you pay for alone, or a marshrutka on a timetable with changes. Yet someone else is almost always going the same way on the same day.

Birge helps those people find each other: fill a car together and split its price. It costs less than a taxi and is easier than a marshrutka — with stops on the way and luggage agreed in advance.

How it works

  1. An organiser posts a trip: route, date, number of seats and the price of the car.

  2. Travellers send a request — how many of them and what luggage.

  3. The organiser confirms, and the trip chat opens: meeting point, time, payment.

  4. The car's price is split between everyone who travels; the full-group price is shown in advance.

Birge is a platform, not a carrier: we do not drive people or take payments. The details are in the terms of use →

What we believe in

  • A fair price

The car's cost is visible before you request a seat, and each share is calculated on the trip page.

  • People with ratings

After a trip, travellers review each other.

  • Order

Any message or participant can be reported, and the team reviews reports.

  • Your language

The site works in English, Russian and Korean and adapts to your phone.

For drivers and guides

Do you drive people around the region? Post your trips on Birge — travellers will find them in search, on route pages and on Google. Requests come to you, the decision is yours, and the trip chat makes it easy to agree on the meeting point.
